This week, we get to meet Zookeeper Jan! Aside being from across the pond (all the way in the UK!), she also has been playing Zoo for over a year and owns a whopping six cats and two dogs! Wow! Be sure to read on to discover more about Zookeeper Jan and find out why she once had to literally kidnap a dog. What a rebel! Here’s Zookeeper Jan and her adorable granddaughter.
2. How long have you been playing Zoo World?
I can’t exactly remember when I started playing Zoo, but it was over a year ago. It came about because I was ill and off work for about 6 months and needed something to occupy my mind. I did start by playing all sorts of different games but I found that I spent most of my time on Zoo, so I decided to give all the others up.
3. What’s your favorite part of Zoo World?
What I like best about Zoo is how friendly and helpful all my zoomates are. Considering I’ve never actually met most of them and they are from all over the world, which makes it more exciting because of the different time zones. I’ll be saying, “goodnight” and they will be saying, “good morning.” lol.
4. If you could be any animal, what would you be?
If I could be an animal it would be cat. I’ve always said that it I come back to this world after I’m gone, it would be as a cat with a lovely owner like me. Someone who loves me, feeds me, looks after me when I’m ill and lets me do pretty much what I want to do.
5. What’s your favorite animal-related memory? (a trip to a zoo? a favorite pet?)
My favorite animal-related memory must be about 19 years ago. My son fell in love with a German Shepherd dog that belonged to some one else, but the owner was ill treating it. When their marriage broke up the wife helped me to literally kidnap the dog. My son loved that dog and the dog loved him just as much. I’ll always remember when he was only 10 years old and whenever he had a bath, the dog would jump straight in with him! Sadly, we lost her just over a year ago but she will never be forgotten.
6. What are you passionate about?
I am most passionate about my family and friends, but most of all my own animals who I treat as if they were my kids. I only have 6 cats and 2 dogs but I love them dearly and woe be tide anybody who tried to hurt any of them.
7. What’s your favorite book and movie?
My favorite book and movie actually are the same (its always been since I was a little girl): A Christmas Carol.
8. What makes the world go ’round?
Its got to be my family and friends again. But also the people who care and help out in times of trouble: during 9/11, tsunamis, earthquakes and floods. All the people who help others when they don’t even know them. There wouldn’t be a world without these caring people.
Thank you for sharing with us a piece of your life, Zookeeper Jan. It’s great to see how international Zoo really can be by learning a bit more about one of our Zookeepers in a different country! Your family and pets are lucky to have someone so caring and thoughtful and the same goes for Zoo World. We’re glad you’re a part of our community too!
