This week, we get to meet Zookeeper Allan! Aside being our very special second male Zookeeper of the Week, he comes to us all the way from across the pond, in the U.K.! Be sure to read on to discover more about Zookeeper Allan and find out which marine animal he got to swim with in the Mediterranean sea. Trust us, you want to find out. It’s simply magical!
1. Where are you from?
I’m from a little market town in England called Clitheroe in Lancashire county.
2. How long have you been playing Zoo World?
Ive been playing zoo for over two years now and have enjoyed every minute of it.
3. What’s your favorite part of Zoo World?
I think my favourite part of Zoo World is the friends you make playing it. I made a lot of friends when I first started, especially on the help chat where I went to learn how to play. I got lots of help and still chat regularly to the friends I made there. Also, the anticipation of getting new animals and breeding them up to the adamantium level to get the wildlife points.
4. If you could be any animal, what would you be?
I think if I could be any animal in zoo I would be a Golden Eagle, with the freedom to fly and visit many places I have never been to.
5. What’s your favorite animal-related memory? (a trip to a zoo? a favorite pet?)
My favourite animal related memory was swimming with the dolphins in Sardinia, they were so playful and so friendly it was an experience I will never forget.
6. What are you passionate about?
I am passionate about my family and also the welfare of animals. Myself and my wife volunteer for the RSPCA [Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals] together with a group of friend. We regularly spend a week at the local supermarket collecting money for them, the last time was three weeks ago and we collected over £1,700 (that’s about $2,300)
7. What’s your favorite…
Food: I love any type of Italian food, with saltimbocca being my favourite. That’s a thin fillet of port or veal, with a slice of ham on top of it and then a sage leaf with the whole folded in half and fried in butter , served with your favourite pasta.
Music: Musically, I have very broad tastes ranging from classical to 60s, 70s and 80s music, [although I’m] afraid I don’t like rap.
Movie: My favourite movie of all time is Cat Ballou. I think Lee Marvin takes a wonderful part in that, but recently this has been equalled by the Lord of the Rings Trilogy, shot in new Zealand. The scenery was wonderful and the film stayed very true to the books.
Book: I love Terry Pratchett’s Discworld series of books, and anything by Bernard Cornwell.
8. What makes the world go ’round?
Good questions. I think Love is a major part of it and friendship, I just wish there was more of it in the world and everyone could get along together as we do on Zoo irregardless of race, colour or religion.
Thank you for sharing with us a piece of your life, Zookeeper Allan! Your devotion to the game and all the friends you’ve made here in the Zoo World Community is inspiring. We hope the ideals you mentioned in Zoo World will one day spill over to the rest of the world, so we can all get along regardless of race or religion. We also hope your adventurous spirit to travel, explore and save animals never falters. Finally keep on enjoying all the mouth-watering foods you love! Foodies need to unite in the Zoo World community!
