Zookeeper of the Week 6/21: Zookeeper Cyn

This week, we get to meet Zookeeper Cyn! Aside being a passionate caretaker for her own precious dogs, she has also rescued many puppies and nursed them back to life! Talk about amazing!  Be sure to read on to discover more about Zookeeper Cyn and read more about her puppies and her faraway travels!

1. Where are you from?
My name is Cyn Sity and my life is my zoo!!  I come from an oak tree planted near Duluth, Minnesota. The planet’s name is Zorcon and we rule that planet!!

2. How long have you been playing Zoo World?
I don’t play zoo, it’s my job.  As soon as my internet was wired into my tree, I was able to start working on getting my  Zoo set up in August of 2009.  It seems just like yesterday.

3. What’s your favorite part of Zoo World?
My favorite part of zoo would be breeding.  I would have liked to actually be with those other animals, but no, all I get to see is the egg.  I also like buying new animals.  They are just fun!

4. What’s your favorite animal-related memory? (a trip to a zoo? a favorite pet?)
I was about 4 years old when my grandfather brought me a present.  The present turned out to be an American Cocker Spaniel puppy who was only 6 weeks old.  I named her Taffy and she was with me constantly until I was about 18 yrs old and realized that she was in pain and the most humane thing to do would be to let her go.  It was shortly after that my grandfather passed away so Taffy had someone to be with.

5. What are you passionate about?
The care and well being of dogs.  I detest puppy mills.  I ended up rescuing two separate puppies.  One was a male mix of yorkie and something else.  I named him Mickey.  He was scared to death of people and when he got here to my place, he laid flat down since the other dogs wanted to greet him.  He was underweight and malnuourished.  Within a month he was healthy and wasn’t afraid of people.  The family that I gave him to has 3 boys and a girl over 7 yrs of age.  Mickey has fit into this family extremely well and I go visit him every 4 months or so and find that he is so happy!

I have four babies right now. Mazie is my English Cocker Spaniel who is about 14 yrs old. Misty is my Yorkshire Terrier, who is also my service dog, is 4 yrs old (weighs less than 4 lbs) and has had two different litters. Cassie is my Maltese, she is only 2 ½ yrs old and is the princess. I also have Lucky who is 8 months old (she’s Misty’s baby).  I have also been the midwife for quite a few dogs.  My most memorable one was the dog that delivered her pups in my bed while I was sleeping!

6. What’s your favorite quote, food, music, movie, and book?
Food: My favorite food is crab legs, I tasted them when I visited Earth one time.  We don’t have oceans on Zorcon.
Music: I enjoy listening to country music and my favorite would be Toby Keith.
Movie: My favorite movie is The Earthling that Landed on Zorcon.  Those earthlings look really strange!
Book:  My favorite authors are Bertrice Small and Vince Flynn.

7. What makes the world go ’round?
I think it has something to do with gravity, the sun, and the moon…not exactly sure about earth, but here on Zorcon, we have our scheduled times to run in a wheel to rotate our planet.

One other thing that I want everyone to know, I am a proud mother of my son, who is currently overseas in the Air Force.  And before anyone wants to make comments about Air Force members being out of the fighting, my son spent a year in Afghanistan fighting the Taliban along with his team of Marines.  I hope and pray everyday that all of our children and husbands return home safely.

Thank you for sharing with us a piece of your life, Zookeeper Cyn! I assure you the earthlings on our planet aren’t too strange, so I’m glad you took the time to answer all our questions today. 😀 Your passion and love of dogs is inspirational to hear. I’m sure all your pets are very spoiled and lucky to have you in their lives. Thank you for your time and for being an active member of the Zoo World community! We also wish a safe return to your son and to everyone overseas!
