This week, we get to meet Zookeeper Martha AKA Muddy! Aside from currently residing in France after living in South Carolina for 25 years, she also includes a recipe for a true southern dish! Be sure to read on to discover more about Zookeeper Muddy and see what tasty entree you could soon learn to whip up!
1. Where are you from?
I’m originally from Lumberton, North Carolina, and after my college years, I lived in rural South Carolina for 25 years. I’ve been living in a Wrinkle in the Outskirts of Paris, France, since 2003.
2. How long have you been playing Zoo World?
3. What’s your favorite part of Zoo World?
I enjoy it all, but as I’ve always been very curious about everything, I love learning about animals I never knew existed before. I also enjoy seeing the pictures of each of the new animals as they’re released.
4. If you could be any animal, what would you be?
5. What’s your favorite animal-related memory? (a trip to a zoo? a favorite pet?)
When I was a small child, we got a puppy, a German shepherd named Bullet, who thought I was his. He followed me everywhere he could, and when we went away in the car, he waited for me to come back. If I stayed over with someone, he wasn’t content until I was home again. He’d go around the car numerous times trying to see if I’d come out a different door than the one where he was waiting, and then he’d reluctantly settle down a bit; but he was restless until I came home. My dad used to tell people that if they could take me without hurting Bullet, they could have me. Nobody ever put him to the test.
6. What are you passionate about?
Being alive, being a grandmother, being in love! Being a resident tourist (with a camera) in France!
7. What’s your favorite quote, food, music, movie, and book?
My moods are always changing, and so my favorite things change depending on what I need and how I feel at any given moment. A sampling:
Quote: Love is eternal. The aspect may change, but not the essence. (St. Exupéry)
Food: Tacos, chicken bog (http://members.tripod.com/~andrews_sc/chickenbog.htm)
Music: James Taylor, Cat Stevens, The Beatles, The Eagles
Movie: Casablanca, Men in Black, Tootsie, and Shrek
Book: The Little Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry and Shadow Song by Terry Kay
8. What makes the world go ’round? Three things: 1) Someone to love (Friends and Family (spouse included, of course ~ a kiss to my Soulmate and Love of my Life, DG) 2) Something to do (Our work and/or our hobbies) 3) Something to look forward to (You decide what that is for you!)
Thank you for sharing with us a piece of your life, Zookeeper Muddy! It’s so wonderful how you followed your heart all the way out to France and are now living out your dream. Thank you for being an active member of the Zoo World community as you’ve trekked all over the globe. We hope you continue carrying out the three things that make your world go ‘round!
